Victorian fine 18ct gold pavé set brooch with turquoise interspersed with old cut diamonds at the tail, the wings and on the head with cabuchon ruby eyes, a heart hanging from its beak and set with turquoise and a central old cut diamond and a locket back. This is the most delightful piece of jewellery, probably produced after Queen Victoria gave her bridesmaids pavé set turquoise brooches in the form of an eagle. Circa 1840-60

CONDITION: There is some damage to the back of this brooch where the old fitting was removed and a new one put on.
