1960s Sputnik ring set with varied coloured gemstones, including aquamarine, peridot, zircon, and tourmaline, in 18ct fine gold. Marked 18K inside the shank. The fashion for Sputnik jewellery came after the Russian launch in October 1957 of the first "Sputnik" unmanned satellite, which was the first artificial satellite to orbit the earth.
