Victorian 15ct gold purple Tassie ring inscribed inside the shank: "A. Henderson from a few Glasgow friends 1879". This ring has attractive raised band detail on either side of the shank.

Tassie is a glass version of a cameo or intaglio. It was named after James Tassie (1735-1799) who was a Scottish engraver. He created numerous miniature profiles and medals for the nobles in Britain, and made this type of intaglios very popular.

The ring band is 6mm wide. The head of the ring measures: 2cm x 1.7cm
