1970's Amethyst and Diamond Cocktail Ring

A fabulous chunky 18ct gold amethyst and brilliant-cut diamond ring, hallmarked in Birmingham, 1975, and bearing the maker’s mark WG, possibly attributed to Willy Gilbert. The ring centres on a striking amethyst of approximately 9.5 carats, beautifully complemented by brilliant-cut diamonds totalling around 1.80 carats, with an estimated H colour and VS–SI clarity. Bold and luxurious in scale, this statement piece perfectly captures the confident glamour of the mid-1970s while remaining timeless and highly wearable.
