19th Century Multi-Gem Padlock Locket

A gold, enamel, ruby and diamond padlock/pendant, mid 19th century, designed as a heart-shaped gold padlock with foliate designs, accented with blue, green and red enamel, surmounted by a coiled snake suspending a ruby and rose-cut diamond pendant from its mouth, the reverse with a hinged glazed compartment.
