Arts and Crafts Opal and Diamond Pendant

A wonderful late 19th-century Arts and Crafts heart-shaped pendant, set with a captivating black opal surrounded by rose-cut diamonds. Crafted in fine 18ct gold and adorned with delicate gold forget-me-not flowers encircling the silver-set diamonds. The pendant is suspended from a 48.5cm 15ct gold chain with a barrel clasp, marked 15ct near the clasp. Circa 1890
The pendant is 3.2 x 1.9cm. The opal is 6mm x 5mm at the widest point.
