George III Diamond Drop Earrings

A pair of George III diamond drop earrings, circa 1800–1820. Each earring begins with a rose-cut diamond cluster top, from which hangs an articulated teardrop-shaped hoop set with graduated rose-cut diamonds. At the centre, a pair of larger rose-cut diamond drops adds movement and sparkle. The diamonds are crafted with closed backs typical of the period, and the earrings are finished with later shepherd’s hook fittings. In 18ct gold and silver. There are approximately 2 carats of diamonds in each earring, giving a total diamond weight of around 4 carats.
