Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Ring

This is a spectacular ring from the Georgian era, dating back to around 1780, and is a fine example of the intricate craftsmanship of the time. The ring features a central rose-cut diamond, approximately 1 carat, surrounded by 40 points of smaller rose-cut diamonds, all set in a beautiful arrangement. The outer band is crafted in 18-carat gold, while the central band is set in silver, with two additional rose-cut diamonds on either side, leading to a trifurcated shank.
Rose cuts were popular from the 16th to the 19th centuries, especially during the Georgian and Victorian eras, when diamonds were set in jewelry using these cuts. Because they have fewer facets and a flatter profile, rose-cut diamonds reflect light in a gentler, warmer way creating a distinct, romantic glow.
