Gold Lapis Lazuli Necklace

A substantial 18ct gold lapis lazuli necklace, dating to circa 1970. The necklace is composed of polished lapis lazuli discs, each mounted in textured gold and joined by elegant gold knot links, creating a beautifully balanced and distinctive design. A striking and wearable statement piece, showcasing the rich blue of lapis lazuli against warm yellow gold.
A very similar necklace with a pendant drop was sold at Sotheby's in November 2024 (Lot 95), where it was catalogued as the work of Guillemin & Soulaine, 346 Rue St Honoré, Paris. That example bore the maker's mark, whereas this necklace is unmarked by the maker but is stamped '750' and '1647 AL'.
Measurements: 83cm long. Each lapis disc is 1.6cm x 1.1cm and each knot link is 2cm x 1.2cm.
