Victorian Star Ruby and Diamond Ring

We love this Victorian cabochon star ruby ring with old mine cut diamonds on either side. The bright and almost fluorescent cabochon star is approximately 2.4 carats and the surrounding old mine cut diamonds are 25 points each, VS and I colour. The cabochon cut provides a beautiful curved shape, that allows for the six-point star-like phenomenon known as an asterism to show through on the ruby. Circa 1890-1900
