A tiny and remarkable 17th-century fine gold engraved posey ring with very feint traces of green and white enamel, the interior is inscribed "Favor my affection" with a makers mark RW. Poesy rings originate from the French word "poésy" for a motto and were used extensively from the 16th to 18th centuries as lover's tokens and betrothal or wedding rings. This ring cannot be resized.
