Victorian 18ct gold French ring commemorating the siege of Paris from 19th September 1870 to 28th January 1871 during the Franco-Prussian war, the defeat to the Prussians ending the rule of Napoleon 3rd and the Second Empire. It is inscribed to the exterior "Defense de Paris 1870-71" with a makers mark F L inside a recessed diamond.
