A magnificent Regency-era parure, set throughout with approximately 150 carats of vibrant aquamarines. The suite features oval-cut aquamarines framed in repoussé foliate scroll mounts of richly toned 18ct gold, suspending elegant pear-shaped aquamarine drops. Comprising a necklace, a pair of earrings with screw fittings, and a pendant, this suite exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and romantic aesthetic of the period.
Jewellery in the Regency era (circa 1811–1820) was characterised by elegance, restraint, and classical influence, mirroring the neoclassical tastes of the time. Designs often featured delicate goldwork, floral and scroll motifs, and an emphasis on coloured gemstones such as aquamarines, topaz, and amethysts.
