Victorian Diamond Tiara & Necklace

$60,718.00

Reference: CA9202

This Victorian tiara is a beautifully crafted piece that showcases the elegance and versatility of 19th-century design. Made from a combination of silver and 18ct gold, it features old mine cut diamonds, totaling around 9 carats. The diamonds are set in rub-over cut-down settings, which not only secure the stones but also enhance their soft, warm brilliance. The largest diamond weighs approximately 90 points, making it the focal point of the piece.

What makes this tiara particularly special is its ability to convert into a necklace, offering the wearer two options in one piece. This kind of convertible design was popular in the Victorian era, reflecting both practicality and luxury. The diamonds, with their classic old mine cut, offer a vintage charm that is still highly appreciated by collectors today.

Dating from around 1840-1860, this tiara is a fine example of Victorian craftsmanship. Tiaras during this period were typically worn on formal occasions, often by women of high society, as symbols of elegance and status. The ability to transform it into a necklace makes it an even more versatile addition to a jewelry collection.

This is a timeless and perfect piece. Perfect for a wedding.

ABOUT THE ERA

Victorian Era Jewellery

Jewellery in the Victorian era (1837–1901), named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, is notable for its diversity and reflection of the period's social, cultural, and technological changes.

This era can be divided into three distinct periods: the Early Victorian or Romantic period, the Mid-Victorian or Grand period, and the Late Victorian or Aesthetic period. Each phase had its own unique characteristics and influences on jewellery design.
