A spectacular opal and diamond brooch, circa 1870, crafted in 18ct gold and silver and designed to dazzle. At its heart sits an impressive opal of approximately 20 carats, displaying a magnificent play of colour, encircled by around 5 carats of old mine-cut diamonds in H–J colour and VS2–SI clarity. This extraordinary jewel is a true Victorian showpiece.
The brooch is 4cm x 3.1cm and is fitted with a safety chain.
