Baroque Freshwater Pearl Guard Chain

A beautiful vintage baroque freshwater pearl guard chain, handcrafted in 9ct gold. The pearls are slightly graduated from the front to the back featuring a bolt ring clasp. Each pearl has a bright lustre and has its own unique shape. This necklace can be styled once, twice or three times around the neck. Guard chains were first popular in the Victorian era when women wore chains designed to hold pocket watches. Circa 1980.
