A great pair of long Victorian cut steel earrings. These earrings are articulated in two places so they swing well on the ear. Circa 1840.
Cut steel became a popular alternative to gemstones in the early Victorian era due to its sparkling appearance. It was particularly fashionable during the Regency and early Victorian periods, when it was often used to create intricate, geometric designs. Cut steel glimmers beautifully in candlelight.
Measurements: 7cm long excluding the shepherds hooks by 2cm wide at the widest point.
