Victorian Diamond Brooch

An exceptionally crafted antique starburst pendant brooch dating from the Victorian period. This piece is set in in platinum and 18ct gold and is composed of pear shaped old mine cut diamonds set in heart shaped petal settings with a central cushion cut diamond to form a flower. This antique brooch has approximately 5.8 carats of diamonds I/J colour and VS-SI clarity, all closely set. The central diamond is approximately 70 points and the pear shapes are approximately 20-28 points each. The brooch pin is detachable and there is a small loop that could be used to attach a pendant. It remains in excellent condition. Circa 1890.
