A remarkable Victorian mourning ring crafted in 18ct gold, featuring a bold black enamel locket design. At its center, a 20-point old mine cut diamond is set in a star-shaped setting. The inside of the shank is beautifully engraved with the poignant inscription: "In Loving Memory of My Dear Mother, Obt Feb 1st 1893." Hallmarked for Chester, 1892, this deeply sentimental piece is a striking example of mourning jewellery in the Victorian era.
