Victorian Heart Shaped Diamond and Ruby Pendant

A romantic Victorian heart-shaped pendant, crafted in silver-topped 18ct gold and dating from circa 1870–1880. The pierced heart is centred with an oval Burmese ruby and framed by a lively surround of old mine-cut diamonds, further accented by additional Burmese rubies set within a scrolling foliate border. The rubies total approximately 1.00 carat, complemented by approximately 1.10 carats of diamonds, creating a striking contrast of colour and sparkle. This finely worked pendant is a quintessential example of late Victorian sentimental jewellery.
