Victorian Opal and Diamond Crown Ring

A striking crowned opal ring, circa 1870, featuring a vibrant opal with beautiful play of colour. The opal, weighing approximately 4.5 carats, is claw-set in 18ct gold and framed by a halo of old mine-cut diamonds set in silver. The diamonds total around 0.25ct. The ring is finished with a bifurcated gold shank.
