Anchor Brooch / Pendant

A striking and unusually large anchor brooch and pendant in 18ct two-colour gold, circa 1900. The boldly modelled anchor is crafted in polished yellow gold and entwined with a beautifully detailed twisted rope in contrasting white gold. The reverse is fitted with a brooch pin, while the integral loop allows the jewel to also be worn as a pendant. A substantial and decorative turn-of-the-century jewel, the anchor traditionally symbolising hope, steadfastness and security.
Measurements: 6.8cm high x 4.4cm wide at the widest point.
