A late 19th-century diamond Maltese cross pendant/brooch, circa 1880, crafted in silver and gold with an elegant openwork design. At its centre sits an old cushion-cut diamond cluster, with structured cross arms set with a mix of old cushion-cut and rose-cut diamonds. With an estimated total diamond weight of approximately 3.60 carats, the piece displays a lively, antique sparkle characteristic of the period. The principal diamond is assessed in the mount as approximately I–J colour and VS clarity, while the surrounding diamonds are bright, with an average clarity of SI and minor age-related chips consistent with antique jewellery.
