Victorian Spinning Bloodstone & Carnelian Fob
Reference: ZZ1671
A classic late Victorian spinning fob, crafted in 9ct gold and set with two polished gemstones, deep green bloodstone on one side and rich orange-red carnelian on the other. The swivel mechanism allows the fob to rotate smoothly between the two stones.
Hallmarked for Birmingham, 1900, and stamped with the maker’s mark MW&S. Originally worn on a gentleman’s watch chain or Albert chain, fobs like this one also served as seals or personal talismans, with bloodstone symbolising strength and protection, and carnelian associated with courage and vitality.
