The Tassies—glass paste intaglios created to imitate semi-precious stones like banded agate—feature striking white surrounds that closely resemble the natural layering of genuine agate. These exquisite cameos are named after James Tassie, the renowned 18th-century Scottish gem engraver and modeller, who popularised this technique. The necklace is finished with a concealed clasp, preserving the seamless beauty of its antique design.
