A superb example of a Wendy Ramshaw ring stack, comprising nine cabochon gemstone rings, circa 1977. Each ring is crafted in 18 carat gold and set with a raised collet-mounted cabochon, featuring moonstone, peridot, pink tourmaline, sapphire, and aquamarine, beautifully arranged on the original cupronickel stand. Each ring bears the maker’s mark “WR” alongside London hallmarks.
The rings measure approximately size L 1/2

Her iconic ring sets transformed perceptions of jewellery, elevating it from adornment to collectible art. Today, her work is held in over 70 public museum and gallery collections worldwide.
“The ring is the most intimate and personal form of jewellery, which is enjoyed by both the wearer and observer.” Wendy Ramshaw, In Conversation: Master Craftsman, c. 1985, Chris Walton
Ramshaw’s concept of the ring set as both wearable and displayable art was truly groundbreaking. Each set is presented on a purpose-designed stand that can be unscrewed, allowing the individual rings to be worn - effortlessly transforming the piece from sculptural object to personal adornment.
