Arts Crafts Amethyst Brooch

A charming Arts and Crafts brooch with green and yellow enamel border with natural pearls enclosing a rub over set diamond shaped amethyst with a bevelled edge, circa 1890-1900. There are no hallmarks on this piece but it tests as 18ct gold and has a bar close to the top to stop the brooch falling forwards when wearing. The pale amethyst is almost a pale pink. There is a tiny chip on the stone on the left hand corner just visible in the photographs which may have happened when the stone was originally set.
The brooch is 2.7cm x 2.7cm
