Ruby and Diamond Clip earrings

A superb pair of 1940s Burma ruby and diamond clip-on earrings, crafted in 18ct gold and platinum. At the lobe, a cartwheel motif features a semi-circle of vivid Burma rubies set in contrast to a semi-circle of eight-cut diamonds, centred by a 0.40-carat brilliant-cut diamond. This transitions seamlessly into a sculptural wing design executed in finely ribbed gold. Each earring is set with approximately 0.80 carats of rubies and 0.75 carats of diamonds, giving a total ruby weight of 1.60 carats and a total diamond weight of 1.30 carats. The diamonds are graded K/L/M colour with VS clarity.
