A Victorian fine gold and agate boxed tortoise and hare brooch, conjoined by a fine link trace chain. The head and tail of the tortoise move and his shell is set with a very realistic piece of agate. Both animals are wonderfully engraved underneath. Circa 1870 

Measurements: Tortoise: 2.6cm x 1.6cm and Hare 2.5cm x 1cm
