Georgian Miniature Pendant

A charming large Georgian miniature pendant depicting two lovers inscribing their names on a tree with a coloured sepia miniature on the reverse depicting a fashionably dressed lady and gentleman. The gold frame has bright cut engraving all around the edge and the base has a bead finial. Miniatures were very popular in the Georgian era. They were highly personal items, depicting loved ones, family members, or important figures, and were used as tokens of affection or remembrance. Circa 1760-80.
Measurements: 6.3cm x 3.4cm including the pendant loop.
