Victorian Caduceus brooch with both green and red enamel and two natural pearls. The intertwining snakes have ruby eyes. In Greek mythology, the staff entwined with two snakes was given to Hermes by his half-brother Apollo. This piece is set in 18ct gold. Circa 1860-80
