Victorian Old Mine Cut Diamond Gypsy Ring

A substantial Old Mine Cut diamond three-stone gypsy ring, crafted in 15ct gold, circa 1870–1890. The ring features three diamonds with a combined approximate weight of 1.25 carats: the centre stone is K colour, and the side stones are J and M colour, all with VS to SI clarity. The ring has a total weight of 8 grams. While this ring does not bear hallmarks, it has been tested and confirmed as 15ct gold. During the late 19th century, hallmarking practices were less standardised, and it was not uncommon for gold jewellery, especially 15ct pieces, to be unmarked. The 15ct gold standard was introduced in 1854 and remained in use until it was discontinued in 1932.
